Structuraed lipids

Structured lipids are natural fats that have undergone fatty acid recombination. The main component of natural fat is triglyceride, and fatty acids are all long chains (C14~C22). Structured lipids are lipids reconstituted by chemical or enzymatic procedures to alter their fatty acid composition and/or the stereochemical positions of the fatty acids in the glycerol molecule. These specially designed lipids could be used in infant formulas.

OPO Structured lipid
Definition An emerging structured lipid, known as 1, 3-dioleic acid 2-palmitic acid triglyceride (OPO) has unique 2-position palmitic acid structure and 1, 3 position mainly linked to unsaturated oleic acid and endows it with an almost similar molecular conformation with human milk fats.
Main Application This unique structured lipids (OPO) can effectively avoid the formation of calcium soap and is beneficial to the digestion and absorption of fatty acids and calcium, thus prevent constipation in infants.
